Hibiscus Wonder marked a turning point in my studio-a day when I set aside my usual realism and let color take the lead. On this 16x20 canvas, I used only a palette knife, pushing and pulling thick acrylic paint until a hibiscus emerged from a whirl of energy.
Instead of carefully outlining each petal, I focused on how the flower feels: bold, alive, and impossible to ignore.
